Juniors require membership to participate in coaching sessions. Parents are also asked to complete the Junior
Participation Agreement.

Yes – many players first come on a rapid/blitz night or social night. Check the calendar for a good first visit.
Do members still pay for tournaments?
Some events have entry fees, but members receive free/discounted rates depending on the format (rapid/blitz vs long timeframe).

Use the same Join/Renew link online, or pay by EFT and contact the Treasurer if needed.
Is HBCC suitable for complete beginners?
If you’re completely new, start with social chess (no pressure) or ask us for the best entry point.
