Programs & Levels

We offer Junior Coaching where we group juniors by experience (not by age) so every child is challenged at the right level in a supportive environment.

Weekly Tournament & Coaching Schedule

Our Juniors coaching program runs parallel to school terms. Our Junior tournaments and social nights happen all through the year including school holidays. Exact term dates and special events are published in our Juniors Calendar.

Junior Tournaments & Ratings

Tournaments are a fun and important part of a junior’s development. They build resilience, sportsmanship, and
help juniors apply what they learn in coaching.

Junior Rapids

Fast-paced events with multiple rounds in a day or evening – ideal for improvement.

Term Events

Mini-series tournaments played over several weeks to build consistency and confidence.

Inter-Club & External Events

We encourage and guide juniors who want to play in wider Victorian and national events.

Ratings

Depending on the event, results may contribute to club, state, national or FIDE ratings. Pairings and standings are shared online.

Coaching & Support Team

Our juniors are supported by experienced coaches and volunteers who are passionate about teaching chess in a
safe, encouraging environment.
