In other chess news, the Budapest chess club (760 Boronia Rd, Wantirna) is running two types of events this year:

• junior chess lessons, held the first 3 Sunday afternoons of the month, for beginners (2 hours), intermediate (3 hours) and advanced (3 hours) students. Monthly fees are $50 (beginners) or $60 (intermediate and advanced). Parents are encouraged to also enrol, at $15/session.
• a 4-player inter-club team rapid (7 rounds, 15min/0 time limit) competition, held each last Sunday of the month (Feb to Nov), starting at 2pm. Entry fee $25/player/monthly competition. Prize money is per month as well as for the overall year’s winning teams. All players in a team should be members of the same club.
